Originally from Illinois, Vanderbilt brought her south in 1997. The warm weather, kind people, and gorgeous landscapes made it easy to stay. With a son is thriving in college- having been well prepared at The Academy Tutorial-she now enjoys using some of her free time to teach. Favorite pastimes include hiking, camping, kayaking, and spending time enjoying God’s awesome creation outdoors on a pretty farm. When the weather is less pleasant, time is often spent reading great books and playing cards and board games, and watching movies. Heidi teaches health because she sees the general health of young people in our modern culture decreasing physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She is passionate about teaching God’s truth about healthy living to young people. Heidi teaches science because it is one of her favorite topics to read, think, and talk about, and she loves seeing young students learn to love it too.
