Catha was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, where she developed a love for the outdoors and competitive sports at an early age. She is a graduate of Auburn University (War Eagle!) earning a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education. During her time there, she also met Jeff, her husband of more than 30 years.

Catha and Jeff have four children - Rebekah, Charlie, Sarah, and Andrew - and officially completed their homeschooling journey in 2025 when their youngest graduated. Although her own children have finished their time at The Academy, Catha is grateful to continue serving as the Sheriff and as a Tutor, two roles that allow her to invest in teenagers—one of her very favorite people-groups.

She spent eight seasons coaching with the NCC Warriors Basketball program, contributing to girls' teams that earned conference, regional, and national championships. With a background in Christian camping and youth ministry, Catha is also a Certified Life Coach who especially enjoys building meaningful relationships with teens and young adults.

In her free time, you’ll likely find her mowing her yard, traveling with family, walking with friends, snuggling her Great Danes, hosting people around her kitchen island, or cheering on the Jaxx and Jillz - Union University’s Ultimate Frisbee teams.
